Teng Nee Cheong who passed away in 2013 studied at Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in Singapore. He is well known for his colourful works influenced by the different cultures and religions of Southeast Asia. His works can be found in the National Gallery of Singapore, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Singapore) and the Neka Museum in Bali. His works are featured regularly at recent auctions in Hong Kong.
This wonderful still life work is an excellent example of Nee Cheong's skilful blending of colours and is imbuded with the scents of Nunsantara.
