Dang Xuan Hoa (b. 1959) is one of Vietnam's leading contemporary artists. He is a member of the famed Gang of Five who in the 1990s following Doi Moi departed from the prevalent social realist style of painting to a more bolder individualistic expression. He is well known for works depicting friends, family members and self portraits of himself.
