Artwork Details

Chua Ek Kay (1947 to 2008) is the first Chinese brush painter to win the coveted UOB Painting of the Year Award in 1991. A Cultural Medallion winner (1999), Chua is known for successfully blending Chinese ink and Western techniques. His oeuvre includes subjects like the lotus, old shophouses, dancing figures and abstract rythmic lines.

The listed work entitled "Wilderness", signed and dated 1998 by the artist, is an excellent example of his famed abstract rythmic lines.
